At our racial justice workshop at church over the weekend, we committed to be open to new learnings, even if our fresh insights make us uncomfortable.

As Jesus might put it, we committed to look within ourselves and "ask, trusting that we shall receive; seek, trusting that we shall find; and knock, trusting that the door shall be opened unto us."

We are taking the risk of finding out more about who God really is and who we truly are. The medieval mystic Meister Eckart says, "Be willing to be a beginner every single morning."
