gazing up at a vast black canopy lit by stars
and also in town tasting bread
in the warm fragrant kitchens of his friends
speaks of kin-dom not as a place
but as a way of life so infused with love
that we shine with God's own light
and send God's joy brimming over
simply because love
is so good for us,
all of us,
no one left out,
and in our living this way
the dreams of God unfold.
Jesus is asking if we would like to dance
to the love song he is dancing to,
the song being sung
deep within and all around us
by a steadfast and tender-hearted God.
