This week I am challenged by these words from a recent essay by Marian Wright Edelman: "Child poverty is not an act of God. It is the choices of men and women and we can change it. Child poverty can be ended and prevented if we want to."

May our love grow deep enough and strong enough that we center our lives around the children God entrusts into our care--in other words, all the children.
